Gretchen Christine Rossi and Slade Smiley host charity benefit to raise funds for Beckstrand Cancer Foundation on Tuesday, November 22nd at the Victor Paul Salon in Costa Mesa.
Costa Mesa, CA, November 15th, 2011
- One of Orange County's Favorite Housewives Gretchen Christine Rossi & Slade Smiley host “The Magic of Giving” an evening of top entertainment including a performance by acclaimed Illusionist Anthony Hernandez (Anthony The Magic) on Tuesday, November 22nd at 7:30pm at the Victor Paul Hair Salon
in Costa Mesa to benefit Beckstrand Cancer Foundation
. The evening will also include a silent auction, musical performances and a delicious assortment of appetizers provided by the Orange County Restaurant Association and their supporting restaurant partners & desserts provided by Sweet Spils.
Gretchen and her boyfriend Slade felt compelled to do a fundraiser benefiting cancer patients and their families to create awareness for the challenges families face both emotionally and financially when a loved one receives a cancer diagnosis. They know all too well the challenges cancer poses to patients and their families as they are currently battling the cancer of Slade’s son Grayson. "When my son Grayson was diagnosed with Brain Cancer, I was not just emotionally destroyed by the diagnosis of cancer, but after 7 brain surgeries and no cure, I was financially destroyed by the disease” expressed Slade Smiley. Slade chose Beckstrand Cancer Foundation
as the beneficiary for this event as he felt "Beckstrand understands the financial strains that cancer can place on a family and they are offering individuals and family's financial hope. Hope to get back on their feet, pay the mortgage or just put food on the table.”
Beckstrand Cancer Foundation
helps bridge the gap between research and conventional social services by providing financial assistance, patient advocacy, counseling and more. To learn more about the services offered, please visit www.beckstrand.org
Tickets for the Magic of Giving Benefit are $50 available at www.victorpaulsalon.com
. The Victor Paul Salon is located at 763 Baker Street in Costa Mesa. Complimentary valet parking will be available.
Minnesota was great! Everyone is so nice and helpful! I left sunny (kinda cloudy now) California for a winter wonderland! Perfect for getting into the holiday spirit! I kicked off my Minnesota trip taping at Twin Cities Live
with John and Elizabeth! It was a whole lot of fun! We talked about everything! We chatted about the secrets of keeping a long lasting relationship, about working hard and living within your means, about how to stay in shape with improvised exercise and eating in moderation! And of course, about Real Housewives of Orange County!! Season 7 premieres Spring 2012 and let me tell you - there are a whole lot of surprises!!
Watch this clip of Twin Cities Live here.
What are your predictions for Season 7?

When it's really cold outside, I feel like I don't want to ever get out of bed!! Winter time just makes me want to cozy up with my boys (Vito and Rocco!) in a bunch of warm blankets. Of course, I don't have time for that! I have to get up, get some work done and wake up my sleepy eyes! Here are few tricks and tips I've picked up to keep those eyes looking big and bright:
Not everyone is blessed with naturally long, perfect eyelashes, but what you can do is use an eyelash curler. Before applying Culring Lash Mascara
, blast your eyelash curler for 3 seconds with a hair dryer, test to see that it's not too hot and curler your eyelashes. Just like curling your hair, the heat will keep your eyelashes curled longer. Or, what I like to do is use false eyelashes! False eyelashes come in all sorts of shapes and designs - there are natural looking options as well as over the top exotic ones for fun. I like to use my GC Celebrity Eyelashes
. For application tips, check out my video here.
White Eyeliner and Eyeshadow
Strategically using pearly white or champagne eyeshadow can significantly open up your eyes. Try adding GC Creamy Eye Shadow in Avalanche
under your brow bone. Not only will this brighten your eyes, it will make your brows look cleaner and more defined. An old beauty secret used by celebrity makeup artists, is to add a little white to the ridge of the eye where the upper lid meets the bottom lid near the tear duct. So be on the look out for this beauty trick on the red carpet!
Brows can really transform a face. So a little grooming can go a long way. But that doesn't mean to tweeze until there's nothing left! Keep the basic natural contour of your brows and fill them out with a pencil.
Dark circles are caused by a number of things including sun exposure, so make sure the cream you use contains at least SPF 15 like La Prairie Anti-Aging Eye Cream SPF 15
. For crows feet, use an eye cream or gel that contains caffeine like Vichy LiftActiv CxP Eyes Anti-Wrinkle Eyelid Lifting Care
. The caffeine works to temporarily tighten the skin. And overall restrain from squinting - get your eyes checked and keep your eyes protected in bright weather by wearing sunglasses or snow goggles.

Thanks to Haute Living for this great review about my performance with the Pussycat Dolls in Las Vegas! Read the article below, or check out the photos from the show here.
It was a boo-tifully burlesque Halloween as “The Real Housewives of Orange County” star Gretchen Rossi celebrated the year’s sexiest holiday by performing live at Pussycat Dolls Burlesque Saloon inside Gallery Nightclub at Planet Hollywood Resort last night.
Rossi kicked off the show by hopping on the sprawling front bar, lit up by giant, florescent D-O-L-L-S lights, and yelled out to the crowd, “Vegas, I’ve always wanted the chance to show off my sexy inner Pussycat Doll. And I know there’s a little ‘housewife’ in all the women here! Let’s party!”
The California sweetheart, who was also celebrating her birthday, showed off her triple threat skills — dancing, singing and winning over the club — as she performed live with the world famous Pussycat Dolls, dressed in a leather bustier and thigh high stockings, then changing into a sexy cop outfit, done up in sequins and glitter.
Rossi sang live to “Fever” and “Don’t Cha,” blowing kisses to fans and playfully winking to the crowd. Rossi’s longtime love, Slade Smiley, was there cheering on his bombshell babe, along with Rossi’s family, friends and fellow “Housewives” Vicki Gunvalson, Tamra Barney, Alexis Bellino, and of course, the creator and choreographer of the Pussycat Dolls, Robin Antin.
After her provocative performance, her family and friends crowded around the glowing and breathless starlet, and congratulated her on her stellar performance. Rossi thanked everyone for their support and kept repeating how much fun she had.
Smiley kissed his brand-new Doll on the cheek and the two shared a sweet moment before getting pulled away by the rest of their friends to celebrate with a round of drinks to toast the birthday girl and her once-in-lifetime experience.
