Thanks to one of my fans who suggested that BB Cream is one of her makeup essentials, I wanted to do some research to find out more about it! Apparently, BB Cream, which stands for Blemish Balm or Beauty Balm Cream, is one of Asia’s hottest beauty products, and is quickly becoming a must-have skin product worldwide.
The formula is based on a product developed by a German derm, and due to the cream’s skin-regenerating properties, dermatologists have traditionally recommended its use for soothing skin and healing scars caused by laser skin surgery. But when a famous South Korean actress credited BB Cream for her flawless complexion in 2005, the BB craze started spreading like wildfire, going to Japan, China, South East Asia, and now Europe and the USA.
Why? Because not only does it soothe skin, but BB Cream solves a bunch of multiple skin issues, is perfect for all skin types, and has the advantages of both skin care and makeup combining ingredients with moisturizer, primer, foundation, and SPF to improve the skin’s condition and evens out the skin tone while providing coverage for dark spots and other blemishes.
It produces a very natural “no makeup look” but provides coverage like a foundation or tinted moisturizer. Since it is not as thick as foundation, it does not clog pores so it’s great for those with sensitive and acne-prone skin. Plus, some variations contain anti-wrinkle and skin-lightening benefits.
It sounds like an all-around miracle cream, right? I can’t wait to get my hands on some!
Who has tried it and which brand(s) do you like best?

Hey Guys! Here are some great tips from my Personal Trainer Ken Rawlins! It really has helped me when eating out, so wanted to share it with you too! Hope these great tips help!
1. Portion sizes in American restaurants are huge! Before you start your meal you should make a pact with yourself to eat half and take half to go. If you don’t think you have the willpower to stick to your pact, you should ask that the wait staff wrap half of the meal in advance.
2. Know your menu. Some restaurants take the time and effort to add a “heart healthy” icon to low-cholesterol, low-fat, and low-sodium meals. Other restaurants add a “healthy choices” section. I always look for those first.
3. Be cautious with those appetizers – they are usually fried and loaded with fat and calories. Some exceptions are edamame, low-sodium soups, shrimp cocktails, and vegetables, as long as they’re not fried.
4. Don’t torture yourself with that bowl of chips or basket of bread – just ask that it be removed from the table!
5. Don’t be afraid to ask for what you want. If it’s not on the menu, then tell them you have an “off the menu request”.
6. When you have a choice for a side dish, choose vegetables every time. Tip: It helps to not even look at the other options, just say, “Vegetables.”
7. When you are asked how you want your meat cooked, choose one of these options: steamed, grilled, or baked.
8. Salad dressings and sodium-rich sauces are not your friend. Avoid all salad dressings, anything creamy, like hollandaise sauce. The same goes for “Cream of Broccoli” soup – it sounds healthy because it has broccoli in it, but it’s not! Creams are laden with fat and calories. Tip: If you really need a salad dressing, you can go with olive oil and vinegar on the side.
9. Limit yourself to one glass of wine. Alcohol loosens your inhibitions and sometimes this results in overeating.
10. Eat slowly, savor each bite, enjoy your company and turn off your cell phone. Don’t forget that living in the moment is part of your healthy lifestyle!

Makeup is essential to accentuating and highlighting our best features. That’s why one of a woman’s most important accessories is her makeup bag! In fact, I think it’s so important to always keep makeup close at hand that my GCC handbags are actually designed with interior pockets just to keep your cosmetics handy and organized within your purse!
Makeup helps me look my best and fresh-faced throughout the day and night. But, as we know, sometimes, that little makeup bag doesn’t always stay so little, especially when we start stuffing it with more products than what is truly essential.
So, here are what I believe are the true cosmetic essentials. Of course, it’s slightly different for everyone, but here are my go-to basics that I don’t want to be without.
GC Curling Lash Mascara, $13
Experts say that if you have to pick only one cosmetic item, most women either choose lipstick or mascara. For me, that’s mascara! Nothing opens up my eyes like mascara – it makes me look wide awake and vibrant. I think our GCB lash glamour mascara is great – it has a wand and our specifically designed formula for curling lashes and adding rich vibrant color.
GC Flawless Finish Concealer, $12.50
Nobody's perfect, but nobody has to know that! Concealer is an absolute must tool (or trick). It can smooth away and hide “less than perfect” problems. I like our GCB Perfect Finish concealer because it has a smooth formula that will cover dark circles, hide fine lines and other flaws to give you an even skin tone. Plus, the wand makes application easy and precise.
Cosmetic Brushes, $11.99
There’s a different brush for just about every time of makeup: blush, eye shadow, lip brush, eye brow, eye liner, and more! You don’t need to buy every single brush available, but trust me, a good cosmetic brush will make your makeup application just that more precise and professional. M.A.C. and Trish McEvoy carry great brushes, but I really like the EcoTools 5-Piece Brush Set because it has a range of basic makeup brushes and also sells a beginner set with the right brushes to get you started.
I absolutely love our Swirls of Color product. It is a great highlighting/bronzing tool that provides the convenience of a blush/bronzer in one product. The colors are really beautiful and they totally brighten my face with swirls of shimmering color for an instant glow! Brush silky powder on cheekbones, bridge of nose, forehead, and chin.
GC Single Eyelashes, $10.95
I think everyone should carry a stash of fake lashes to make a dramatic difference! (It’s really handy if you are going out for the evening from a full day straight from work). These re-usable fabulous eyelashes will instantly give you a stunning beautiful look. Each set comes with tweezers and adhesive.
GC Oil Free Pressed Powder, $18
When you’ve been running around all day, it’s important to carry a pressed powder so your face looks fresh and flawless. The GC Oil Free pressed power is a shine-absorbing, oil-free formulation that is great for all skin types. Plus, it’s a great blotting powder since its natural matte finish leaves your skin looking even and flawless.
Moisturizer with Sunscreen, $11.99
It’s very important to find a really great moisturizer as well - one that is light but super rich in antioxidants. I actually have one custom made for my skin type from my facialist. It’s not too expensive and it’s worth it because she makes it specifically for my skin type! If you can’t get one specially made, I have always loved Aveeno Positively Radiant Moisturizer ($15). It evens out skin tone and texture and immediately reflects light to bring out skin's natural radiance. It’s also oil-free, hypoallergenic, noncomedogenic, and contains SPF 15 UVA/UVB sunscreen.
GCB Glossy Lip Lip Gloss, $12.50
Last but not least, don’t forget about your lips! GCB Glossy Lips give you rich, sexy lips, and that’s what Gretchen Christine is all about! Sparkling pearls precisely blended into a velvety lip gloss to give your lips an extra luscious boost of shine. The built-in brush on applicator is easy to use for flawless, sensational lips.

recently posted an interview we did together so please check them out! You can read the interview in full on their site
, but here's a snippet:
How did the release of your third single, "Unbreakable," come about, and what inspired you to write the song?
This song was inspired by Slade’s youngest son, Grayson, and what he has been through as a young kid. He’s had brain cancer since he was 5 years old (he’s 12 now, praise the Lord), and has had 11 major brain surgeries! Despite everything he has been dealt, this little kid’s spirit is unbreakable! I also pulled lyrics from my personal diary and my own experiences in life. I have been through a lot in my life and have realized that I am unbreakable no matter what life throws at me! This song was written for every person out there who has ever struggled with anything tough—divorce, illness, loss of job, bullying, people tearing you down, whatever that might be—this song was meant for them. My hope is that everyone will be playing this song and singing at the top of their lungs and remembering that they, too, are unbreakable!
Has music always played a role in your life?
Always. I grew up in a home where music was a huge part of our lives. My father was in several very popular bands back in the day and is still an avid guitar player. Music is the soul of my universe, it gets me in the best modes and gets me out of the worst of modes!
Are there any pop stars, rock stars or musicians you aspire to emulate with your singing career?
Well, in all honesty, to say ‘aspire to emulate’ seems silly to me at this age, however I have a lot of respect for the greats, like Madonna and Lady Gaga, and lately I have just fallen in love with everything about Katy Perry!
Tell me about the Mia Mundo series for Telemundo and how that came about.
That was such a fun experience and such a fun surprise! They reached out to me and said that the writer of the series was a huge fan of mine from Housewives, and she wrote a role specifically to be played by me. I was thrilled and honored to say the least! It was such a great experience, all the cast and crew were so beyond welcoming and gracious with me (since I had never acted before). They were so helpful and made me feel so at ease! I definitely got the bug for acting, so who knows what the future holds.
